Cytology

Cytology is a method through which doctors and specialists can check for malignant cells through samples of fluids in body cavities. These fluids could include Urine, Sputum, Spinal fluid, Pleural fluid, etc.
Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology is an economic, quick and simple method used by doctors to sample superficial masses similar to those found in the neck. FNAC is a much preferred method as it causes minimal pain.
A Pap test is recommended by doctors and specialists as it helps to screen the patient for traces of cervical cancer. It is used to check in the cervical/vaginal cells for cancerous cells.
A Pap smear is used by doctors to inspect cells from the patient’s cervix to check for any abnormal changes that could indicative of malignant cells.
